A Little Bit About Reiki History
The art of Reiki came into being around 1910 and was taught by Reiki’s founder Mikao Usui, a Tendia Buddhist. In Japan he would have been referred to as ‘Usui Sensei’ by his students, with the word ‘Sensei’ meaning ‘revered teacher’ (as close a translation as possible). In the West, we place the word Sensei before the surname. Sensei Usui set out to discover how it was possible to heal by laying on hands on the body. Reiki For Emotional & Spiritual Healing
People come to Reiki for many different reasons. You may be going through some difficult times and need support. Illness and life challenges are often a time of stress and worry. Pain of any kind are messages that we need to stop and pay attention. What ever your reason for feeling drawn to Reiki, and to me, is that you probably have a deeper inner knowing that ‘something’ needs to be addressed.
